brees studio, inc.

March 10th was my three year anniversary at Brees Studio. Working at this company as an artist, project manager, fabrication supervisor, etc. has been an incredible experience. I never could've imagined being involved in such interesting unique work, especially in the small town of Murphysboro, Illinois. One of my proudest accomplishments thus far has been the development of our new website www.breesstudio.com. I've been working on this project for the past year with the talented folks at 1187 Creative and I'm thrilled the site is finally up and running. Please take a look.

I'm loving these seafood spheres by

I think they'd be a fantastic addition to my collection:

Yesterday I uploaded my paper version of Alejandro
for Lady Gaga's 'Who Is Alejandro' contest.
Sure would be fun to own an Alejandro 7" picture disc vinyl signed by Lady Gaga.
Her creativity and fearlessness is an inspiration.

A recent commission for a great friend. She and her husband had the genius idea of giving their son a piece of artwork on his birthday every year until he's eighteen. I'm honored to have a piece in his collection!

My Etsy shop --> Grrkey is finally up and running! You can check it out here.  I'd love to hear your feedback.

A special thanks to my great friends, Jenn & Elaine, for their help with the banner (shown above) and their ongoing support. As many of you know I've been hesitant to jump into this new endeavor for fear of all the unknowns, but now it's happening and I couldn't be more excited to see how things progress! And last but not least, a special thanks to my Coach and amazing stepfather, Jerry, for helping me achieve my goals!

thank you, deb

"Ashley's work is truthful and beautiful --reflective of a truthful and beautiful person--a treat for the eyes and thought-provoking. Most of her pieces have sold, a great accomplishment for a young artist. The people have spoken with their dollars. Her work strikes a common vein of the connection that ties us all to the earth and the creatures therein. It evokes memories of childhood and youth---walks in the woods, skimming minnows in the pond, field trips to museums and lab dissections in high school. Nature offers us the most vivid images of beauty and brutality. Ashley draws upon these images, accentuating the beauty.

The artwork is colorful and compelling, the craftsmanship of the paper cut-outs is exquisite. To those of us who have been eagerly anticipating this show, Ashley has not disappointed. And to this gentle yet fierce young artist---who is as passionate about recycling paper and plastic, as she is about rescuing misguided hummingbirds that find themselves inside the building -----I say, CONGRATULATIONS on a superb and successful show!!"
